Biography
Stanley Cohen He was the Emeritus Professor of Sociology at the London School of Economics and also writer of Criminology and Sociology. Cohen graduated from the UUniversity of Witwatersrand where he studied Sociology and Social Work. He was known with his study "Folk Devils and Moral Panics" which helped to widen the scope of Criminology to include the sociology of crime and Social Control. Cohen passed away on January 7, 2013 after suffering from Parkinson's disease.
